Koh Lanta Dive Sites

Koh Lanta offers the best diving spots in Thailand. If you are thinking of coming to diving Koh Lanta, congratulations! We guarantee that the dives of Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi will live up to your expectations.

All the dive sites around Koh Lanta are excellent. Its reefs and biodiversity are in exceptional health, its waters are clear and clean, and the dive sites are truly varied, offering fun to all divers, regardless of their level.

Among the dive sites, the world-famous Hin Daeng – Hin Muang stands out above all. Considered the best dive site in Thailand, and one of the TOP10 destinations in the world. A wonder of nature where you have to dive, at least once in your life.

The dive sites of Koh Haa, Koh Bida, and Koh Phi Phi are also at a higher level when compared to most other dive destinations in Thailand. With a great variety of dives, very different from each other, both in orography and fauna, these dive sites guaranteeing your diversion if you dive several days with us.

From Koh Lanta, we have quick and easy access to all diving and snorkeling spots. And with our speedboat, we will arrive before any other dive center on the island, which allows us to enjoy the first dive practically alone. You will have the entire diving area to yourself. Another advantage of diving with Hidden Depths Diving.

Diving Hin Daeng - Hin Muang

The Hin Daeng and Hin Muang dive sites are a sanctuary for underwater life and diving. We are not tire of saying it; Hin Daeng – Hin Muang is the best dive site in Thailand, and if you come to dive with us, you will see with your own eyes why it is a TOP dive site worldwide.

The main reason to diving Hin Daeng and Hin Muang are the huge oceanic mantas that visit the cleaning stations in the area, which can be up to 4 meters from tip to tip of their fins. This is one of the few places in Thailand where we can enjoy the presence of these giants. It is also a point where we regularly spot whale sharks, given the high concentration of nutrients in the area. If you are very lucky, you will be able to see oceanic manta rays and whale sharks in the same dive.

In addition to the pelagic giants, Hin Daeng has a large population of red and purple soft corals, that line the entire reef. These corals are bigger than anywhere else around Koh Lanta.  Hin Daeng and Hin Muang are home to thousands of sea creatures, which is highly appreciated by photographers.

Hin Muang has another record; It´s the deepest dive site in Thailand. One of its faces goes down more than 70 meters deep. If you are a lover of deep diving, this is without a doubt, your perfect place.

Diving Koh Haa

Koh Haa is one of our favorite areas for scuba diving and snorkeling. This small archipelago is one of the most visited places in Koh Lanta for its beauty in and out of the water.

Koh Haa diving offers incredible fun for all levels of divers. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first time to put on the wet suit, or if you have more than 1.000 dives, Koh Haa always has a perfect dive for you.

The bay, made up of 3 of its islands, popularly known as Koh Haa Lagoon, is one of the best snorkeling spots in all of Thailand. Its turquoise blue waters are calm, shallow, and have a perfect reef for lovers of snorkeling.

One of its best-known dives includes a visit to “La Catedral”, which are 3 imposing underwater caves, two of them connected from the inside. In the dome of the central dome, there is an air pocket from where we can admire the different formations of limestone stalactites with the turquoise light that filters from the cave´s entrance. It is a true wonder of immersion.

Koh Haa islands are frequently visited by whale sharks, which are seen almost daily during peak diving season. Another of its most illustrious visitors is the very rare guitar shark, very difficult to see, given its shyness and that it is a species in extreme danger of extinction. One more reason for Hidden Depths Diving to continue fighting and betting on an eco-responsible scuba diving model.

Diving Koh Bida

Diving Koh Bida is spectacular. In our opinion, one of the best diving spots in our neighboring Phi Phi Islands, along with the Kled Kaeo wreck.

Visiting Koh Bida is synonymous with one word: Sharks! Since it is common to find various types of shark characteristic of the area in its different dives. Around Koh Bida Nok Island, especially on its eastern side, it is normal to find small groups of blacktip reef sharks. Which swim very shallow and can also be seen by snorkeling groups.

But the species of sharks that will fascinate you are the spectacular leopard and zebra sharks that can be seen on all the islands of Koh Bida, but especially on the small reef of Hin Bida.

Sharks aside, Koh Bida offers some spectacular dives. In its reefs you will find octopus, squids, large turtles feeding on bubble corals, huge schools of riflemen and silver trevallies, groupers, porcelain crabs among the anemones, century-old bell corals, and endless life along a reef so populated that sometimes you won’t know where to look first!

Diving Koh Phi Phi

The beauty of the famous Phi Phi islands and their beaches is known all over the world. What fewer people know is the beauty that hides under its waters. Koh Phi Phi diving has a wide variety, very good quality, and spectacular underwater landscapes.

Get ready for an exciting day scuba diving Phi Phi! We have already commented that one of the attractions of diving in these islands are the groups of blacktip sharks that roam the area, but these are not its only attraction. The biodiversity of Phi Phi is very extensive. Its staggered and shallow reefs favor the development of large extensions of coral, in which it´s common to find large cuttlefish, schools of yellow riflemen, stalking barracudas, moray eels, batfish, clownfish, and the cute boxfish.

If you like intense emotions, we have prepared for you a dive to the wreck of the sunken ship Kled Kaeo, a metallic beast that rests 26 meters deep, and is home to countless creatures from the seabed. One of the best dives in Koh Phi Phi, only available to advanced divers.

If you’re a macro lover, you’re in luck! As the shallow areas of the reefs are abuzz with small-scale life. The concentration of invertebrates in some areas is incredible. On some occasions, we have been able to count up to 20 species of nudibranchs in a single dive, which is truly amazing!

Other Dive Sites

If you still want more, we have a series of other dive sites that we visit on demand. These dive sites are also spectacular, such as the famous Shark Point, Anemone Reef, and the King Cruiser wreck. But we do not go regularly due to the remoteness, as it is difficult to compete with the closest points of Koh Haa, Koh Bida, or Hin Daeng.

If you are interested in any of these dive sites, or many others that we can suggest, get in touch with us and we will do everything possible to set up a scuba diving expedition to visit these more distant places on the dates that you tell us. Although we cannot assure you that the excursion will take place, since we need a minimum number of divers to be able to take the boat out.
