We love the Rescue course!
Nowadays, diving is a very safe activity, but even taking all possible precautions and following strict safety procedures, we must be aware that diving always carries a certain risk. With the PADI Rescue Diver course, you will learn to prevent these problems and to be alert to solve them by reacting quickly and appropriately. A rescue diver becomes a valuable member of the diving team, as he not only dives safely but also provides extra security to the group.
All divers can have a problem underwater, from the newest to the instructor with more than 10,000 dives. That is why we know how important the rescue course is, and we believe that absolutely every diver should do it. It is a super rewarding course that marks a before and after in your life as a diver.
To take the PADI Rescue Diver course, you must have previously taken the Emergency First Responder Course (EFR) in the last 24 months. If you need to do this course, don’t worry, we can do it at the dive center and integrate it into your rescue course for 4,500 THB.

PADI Rescue Diver course structure
PADI Rescue course is divided into 3 blocks:
Diving theory: In this section, we will read the course manual and reinforce the knowledge with a video and a knowledge review test at the end of each unit. In the end, you will take a short final exam.
Confined waters – Rescue sessions: Either on our jetty or in a pool, we will practice a series of rescue techniques that we will have to put into practice the next day in open water. Rescue sessions are fun and demanding at the same time. It will be a great day!
Open Waters: Once you have learned the rescue techniques, you will have to put them to the test and show that you are ready to be a Rescue Diver. We will prepare emergency scenarios throughout the diving day, and you will have to be very attentive to identify and solve any situation. A day that you will always remember!

Medical requirements for scuba diving
It is mandatory to pass a simple medical questionnaire before taking any PADI diving course. It is a simple questionnaire on different pathologies in which it is supposed that you answer “no” to all the questions to be eligible and start the diving course.
In case you answer “yes” to any of the questions, it does not mean at all that you are not suitable to dive, it simply means that you need to consult a qualified doctor and that he/she certifies in writing that you are suitable for diving.
You can bring this certificate with you, or we can do it in Koh Lanta for an approximate price of 600 Baht. If you want, we can help you manage the reservation with the doctor, and it will not take you more than 10 minutes to have your certificate.
If you want to go ahead, or want to take a look at the medical form, here are the links to the PADI medical form in the main languages: English – Spanish – French – German – Italian – Chinese (simplified).
Once you finish the Rescue course
When you will get your PADI Rescue Diver certification, you will be at another level as a diver. Safer, more forward-thinking, and much more aware of the world of diving and its dangers. Your dive buddies will feel much more at ease knowing that there is a Rescue diver in the group.
Your next challenge
Upon completion of the PADI Rescue Diver course, two paths will open before you; One is the recreational diving path, being able to opt for the PADI Master Scuba Diver certificate, which is the highest level that can be reached as a recreational diver. The other path that opens before you is that of professional diving, since now you can choose to take the first step in your career as a professional diver and start the famous PADI Divemaster course.
